Former Employee - Flight Attendant in Fort Worth, TX

Pros

As a flight attendant is was able to see most of the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico. Met wonderful people from all over the world.

Cons

The pay is terrible, management is completely out of touch about what really goes on at the airport. Long days and short nights. I stayed exhausted 24/7.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees care as much if not more than management about the success of American. The employees ARE the airline! It's really embarrassing apologizing for stupid management decisions a dozen times a day.

    Pros

Rewarding work when considering that you are allowing individuals to meet family, or business commitments. If in the right position there is a lot of responsibility.

    Cons

Bureaucratic, any decision must go through a significant number of levels both vertically and horizontally any of which can stop the progress. Pay is low for responsibility, which used to be offset by benefits.

Current Employee - QC Inspector  in  DFW, TX
Current Employee - QC Inspector in DFW, TX

    Pros

Flight benefits, 401K are very good.

    Cons

Old airline mentality of pointing fingers at scape goat. Takes 12 years to reach the top of pay rate in maintenance. Pay scale is now frozzen for 8 more years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Top management is doing a good job of improving performance. American Eagle requires growth which I'm sure will be forth coming. Hire smarter managers. Many of the ones we have destroy our bottom line.
