    Pros

The only way to get fired from Customer Service Center is to not show up.
Customer service center manager is flexible.

    Cons

IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR IT SUPPORT PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!

Hate the politics, the only way to get a promotion is to be buddy buddy with the IT manager(sean sargent), hard work is not appreciate it in the IT field here. People should be promoted due to experience or knowledge, not by being friends.
Each team is segregated and against each other, in order to have a powerful IT group you need to have these teams together.
The average rate you'll last with CSC is less than a year (it is that bad). Usually people want to quit by the 2nd month because of how things are managed.
manager will throw you over the bus and HR will not back you up at ALL!!!!!
    Place is always cold.

EVERY PERSON THAT HAS LEFT THIS PLACE FINDS THAT THE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

BE ETHICAL and promote people due to experience not friendship.
Stand up for your team if you want them to last long there.
(abs employee IT manager) stop threatning of firing someone everyday (literately).
just HIRE these contractors as employees you will be saving HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars if they just became employees.....its SAD how much they are paying to keep them as contractors, more than if they would of been employees.

    Nice Place with Horrible Pay

I have been working at American Bureau of Shipping full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

ABS has an interesting and diverse culture of intelligent, friendly and genuine people. The corporate offices are relaxed and create a feeling of family. There is a strong sense of stability here and the company has a solid feeling. You feel backed up by your company and it frees you to make life decisions with the sense that your job is always secure.

    Cons

The pay rate is terribly low. Terribly. The benefit package is costly to the employee and not competitive in the market. There is no employer matched 401K option only the offered pension plan which isn't strong unless you are very senior management and able to accept the low pay rate for decades. In the end you really cost yourself money if you stay with ABS too long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review and revise the pay rate you offer and enhance the benefits to be competitive in the market. Offer lower and mid level an escalating matched 401K plan.
