American Cancer Society – “Chock Full of Misfits & Malcontents”
5 of 5 people found this helpfulPros
The American Cancer Society has a very generous paid time off policy and a reasonable benefits medical / dental package
Cons
This company is all about image and nothing about substance. They will promise you anything to get a donation and a commitment for volunteer time and never, ever follow through. The Income Reps merely tolerate their RFL teams and volunteers, middle management has contempt for the people they are trying to squeeze the most money out of, and upper management achieve and retain their positions by what I refer to as "The Fluke Principle" - ultra-incompetent Yes-Men and Women who shamelessly suck the teet of ACS for their own advancement and at the expense of retaining and nurturing good and dedicated people. The turn-over rate is staggering and the workload is appallingly large, not to mention often pointless and redundant, to satisfy the whims of the Marketing clan. This company will crush your soul. Seriously.
Advice to Senior Management
The American Cancer Society is cult-like in their devotion to maintaining ineptitude and inconsequential in the fight against cancer. One Big Lie.
