Staff are expected to meet unreasonable goals with limited resources and little to no support and training.

I have been working at American Cancer Society full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Volunteer relationships, benefits and NOTHING ELSE.

    Cons

No support from upper management. Transformation is a disaster that is destroying morale. Goals are laid on the backs of staff with no support or resources. Work is not distributed fairly. Some areas have little to no work load. Those staff work 37.5 hours and go home to their families. Field staff are expected to work 60 or more hours a week and attend 2-3 night meetings a week in different locations. Arriving home at 11pm is not uncommon. Upper management talks about work life balance, but do NOTHING to afford it to the most important staff: the ones who raise the money!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take better care of your field staff, and listen to them. They know your constituents better than anyone. Stop spreading managers so thin that they are not able to support staff.
