Although inspired by working with volunteers, I had a very quick burnt out working so many hours. .

I worked at American Cancer Society full-time (more than an year)

Pros

The organization provided health insurance.

Cons

During event season, although my job was working with patients and programs I was expected to work all of the events working more than 70 hours per week without compensation.

    Cons include a lack of a career ladder for PhD level staff working as epidemiologists.
