My tenure at ACS was fulfilling due to the mission of the organization, the dedicated volunteers, and hard working staff

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Des Moines, IA

ProsGood salary, benefits, professional development, career advancement, paid time off

ConsHQ & senior leadership out of touch with reality in the field. Micro-management. Departmental silos. Lack of "all for one and one for all" attitude amongst departments.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your staff AND act upon their recommendations. Transformation should have taken a footnote from the highest per capita division in the nation, instead of taking "change" in the opposite direction.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Non-management employees are sadly not respected, althought the mission sometimes is.

    Mid-Level (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

I have been working at American Cancer Society full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: funded research and patient support Cons: While being the largest non-profit, there is a disturbing environment of bizarre politics, blatant favoritism, lack of opportunity and no raises for mid and low… Advice to Senior Management: Upper executives make obscene salaries ought to reward their employees… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
