Worse Micro-managing ever!

Assistant Manager (Current Employee)

ProsEmployee discounts and health benefits
Very competitive compensation plan

ConsIt starts at the top of the chain. Regional, district, store and then the assistant. Each link micromanages the next link. If you enjoy calling your DM everytime you do your job, then work at AE! Budget cuts started a few years ago. AE created their policy and procedures MANY years ago. Do not expect to be in compliance with floor coverage or help with task as there is no money to pay these people! Puayroll cut but expectations still remain! You must be magical to work here. Unrealstic deadlines and projects!! How can there possibly be a front greeter at all times, a fitting room host, a main cashier and a manager on duty if there are only two people working on a given shift?!! DM visits result in punishment in times like this because "Omg, I didn't get greeted when I got here". Really?? Well give some more payroll hours to the high volume stores who do $80k a month in sales!!

Advice to Senior ManagementCorporate needs to work in a high volume store for one weekend. Then the chain will stop there.
