I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time

    Pros

Great discount (40-60% off), amazing contests (I got so many things for free just for winning contests!), and sometimes a very fun place to work. Your experience is generally determined by the management team. I've felt really supported by one store manager, but after she left, it went downhill and I just felt taken advantage of.

    Cons

They hire so many part time employees, you're lucky if you get 20 hours a week. The pay is low and even for really awesome employees, the raise isn't much. There is no room for advancement. I know some people that worked for the company for 3 years and they are still sales associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take notice of people who stick around and consistently bring good attitude and effort into the job. Train them and develop them and then promote them! Promote from WITHIN! Quit hiring outsiders all the time when there are great people within the company! Hire fewer people and give more hours to people who dedicate themselves.
