The worst upper management, by far. Worst micromanagement as well.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters full-time

    Pros

Great discount on clothing and apparel.

    Cons

If you are a full time manager, you are expected to give up everything. Weekends off mean any 2 consecutive days off and you only get that once per month. The pto policy is a joke. You are not allowed to take a pto day next to an off-day so your days off must be staggered. When you do get a vacation, which is rare, you get sun through sat off so you will not get a weekend off during your vaca. The DM may change your schedule at any time during the week, sometimes requiring you to work 6 or 7 days in that week. The DM leaves daily voicemails recapping business and will require you to voicemail sign off on every task that is given down to promo changes, floorsets, markdowns, etc. If you forget to sign off, they will announce it to the entire district through another voicemail. The pay is horrible for what is expected and they show little appreciation. Once my DM found out I had another opportunity with another company, she made my life even more difficult as she took it personal. So she made it personal on me as well. I was treated like everything I was doing was wrong and also threatened to be moved to another location had I decided to stay with them and the drive would have been 2 hrs. It was, however, an empty threat as HR told her that was not allowed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

District managers need to be aware of the favoritism that they are showing towards others, in my district, we were not treated equally. The DM had no idea that I knew as much as I did.
