I have been working at American Eagle Outfitters full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Fun atmosphere, great discount, great health benefits, and great pay.

Cons

Very minimal payroll to give out, customers complain that there isn't enough help on a daily basis.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more payroll to give better customer service. Online returns should not count against the store.

I worked at American Eagle Outfitters part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay was good for a 17 year old still in high school
    environment was fun
They were flexible with my personal schedule
Didn't force me to come in on off days

    Cons

    Very few hours
Felt as if there was favoritism in the work place at times
Was lied to by store managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was hired as a seasonal worker along with every other worker because it was the stores grand opening. I completely understand that I was hired on as seasonal (which performance would determine who stays and who is let go). I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth because I was told by all the managers I was staying for sure and that they were going to be giving me all these hours and not to worry. Although it felt as if they only gave me hours when someone would call out or when they needed someone to come in because they were busy. After my 2 week chunk of covering peoples shifts, I wasn't scheduled for 2 weeks. I then went in to ask if I was going to get any hours and that's when the General Manager said, "Oh.... yeah I've been meaning to tell you this, but we are no longer going to need you anymore." I personally hold no grudge against this company and enjoyed working there, but my advice to upper management would be to make sure your store managers aren't telling employees that they are being moved to permanent, then fire them once they are completely finished with holiday rushes.
