American Express – “Good company, but little job security”

Pros

Good place to work, a comfortable work environment, and generally low stress. Local management is fairly responsive. Average pay, good benefits package.

Cons

Lots of duplication of effort across different divisions, internal structure is highly complex and convoluted. Poor business conditions have led to layoffs across the firm so there is little job stability.

Advice to Senior Management

Great products, but American Express is far too internally focused. There is little understanding of what is going on across the company.
