Pros

co-workers were great It used to be a great company, for over 20 years, but not any more

Cons

Management has put unrealistic requirements on the travel agents. They have reduced staff and demanded higher productivity. They want more, faster, and no mistakes. They have gone so far overboard it's unbelievable and for most not obtainable. Stress, stress, stress, is what you get if you work for AMEX.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, don't just say this is how it is live with it. What you demand is not possible for everyone, some accounts demand more time and attention and unless you throw good customer service out the window you can't work faster, take more calls, and do a good job.

    Pros

Good benefits, the company leaders care about the employees and customers, and celebrates employees going above and beyond to do what's right.

    Cons

Corporate bureaucracy, self-preserving middle managers. It can be a challenge to break through the middle managers to get to the decision makers.

    Advice to Management

Go below the middle managers (low level VP's) to find the real talent and issues affecting the customers and employees.

    Pros

    I can't think of any

    Cons

It is run like a prison camp--everyone in cubes, walls with ears, group think. I was happy to get out of there

    Advice to Management

Stop running it with such a heavy hand
