First of all, here in Phoenix, they elliminated surveys because the senior senior leadership did not want people to know how employees actually feel. Secondly, it is very political at AMEX and geared towards 2 groups and they are as follows: 1-) getting the senior leadership the biggest bonus possible at the expense of the people who are the front lines and the ones who retain our customers and 2-) by pushing the Blue Box values, they are instilling a culture of bullying people into being subserviant and nullifying the will to actually speak their minds. It is sad when a company pushes diversity (very good thing) to make people feel like they are a person and not a stastistic but that the CEO uses this to take advantage of the fact that he is coloured as to not get fired. Do you actually think that if Ken Chenault was white he would still be CEO considering how the company did a few years ago but he knows that AMEX would not get rid of the black CEO otherwise there would be investor backlash at the thougt of a pro diversity company axing a black CEO and making him the scapegoat.
