I have been working at American Girl part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Weekly pay, good managers, funny co workers, little girls girls, celebrities from time to time, 15 minute breaks even when you had a 4hr shift.

Cons

4hour shifts that would be smack dab in the middle of the day for example 2pm to 6pm, and annoying mothers.

I have been working at American Girl part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great place to work retail. Friendly staff and management, customers are generally positive, and excellent incentive programs. American Girl is part of Mattel and so has a good corporate structure as well. All staff are encouraged to "make magic" for the customer meaning you are empowered and encouraged to make the customer happy without having to go through a lot of hoops.

    Cons

Part-time staff will rarely receive more than 22 hours in a week and there are a very limited number of benefited positions. Because it is a store whose main clients are 9-year-old girls, there can be a bit of "goody-two-shoes" about the place--strict dress code, language, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up what you're doing! It's a great place. Don't sweat the small stuff as that is what drives staff crazy.
