I worked at American Greetings full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

great cafeteria; commited professionals;nice products

Cons

limited upward mobility ;in-fighting/back stabbing among leaders; family friends (of the owners) hired & often incompetent

Advice to Management

Revise Chairman awards. This event is a big cost item. Too many 'key managers.' There is still a lot of overhead.

I have been working at American Greetings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

American Greetings has some amazing people that you can work with... the people are what make it a good place to work. The environment is also very laid back and flexible, which is always a positive. Working at American Greetings can definitely give you many experiences to add to your resume and you can definitely gain experience in a fast paced environment. There are a lot of medical and retirement benefits offered also.

    Cons

American Greetings is a large corporation with a lot of the usual office politics to deal with... it is a very big company and someones it feels like you are only a "number". Everything moves very fast pace, which can be good, but also is difficult when deadlines are so short and last minute. There are many instances in which everything is done last minute, and this causes a stressful environment.
