I worked at American Greetings part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a good job, mostly no supervision.

    Cons

Company has cut hours so much you have to work off the clock alot to keep up. :/

    Advice to Management

Instead of watching the numbers, help your employees by giving them enough time to get the work done, like it was 2 yrs ago & you won't have as much turn over.

I have been working at American Greetings part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As a merchandiser your work is independent, you pick your hours/times

    Cons

Training is minimal! But worst, You are expected to do massive tasks in unreasonable time limits. Someone from an office 8 hours away cannot feasibly know what has to be done, or what mess you will encounter. Yet they set your hours, sometimes you're expected to get 2 hrs of work done in 30 minutes. You never know how communication with main office will be, some reps are very helpful, most are hateful!

    Advice to Management

Spend more time intricately training new employees, walking them through procedures. Though video training is helpful, but not always realistic. Allow more time for expected completion of work.
