Pros

Great place for women to work and get advancement.

Cons

Very hierarchical, secretive about job performance, too many instances of management lying to employees

Advice to Management

Dissociate the organization from the control of the medical volunteers who have little to contribute to developing a positive workplace or generating contributions or expanding markets

    Pros

Great opportunities for meaningful work Good people to work with and for Team approach, values each person's contributions, Once established, teams trust the expertise that vendors can bring to the organization. As a vendor, I have a sense of partnership in the mission

    Cons

Sometimes the "pecking order" is cumbersome Follow-through with initiatives- well begun does not equal "done"

    Advice to Management

The cohesive sense of mission is building better unity. Continue to develop an understanding for each team on how their part fits into the mission.

It did not offer all that I wanted it to offer.

    Pros

The best reason to work at American Heart Association is because all of the tasks you are assigned will be extremely easy. The skill-set level you need to do any job there, you learn before high school during candy fundraisers.

    Cons

The downsides are endless at American Heart Association. Pay is not nearly enough to live happily, even at advanced positions. The tasks are so easy you get bored within the first couple hours. The employees are all, or 99% women who don't practice what the association preaches.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest management actually challenges the employees to practice what they are preaching, as in eating healthy and exercising, so that when they go out fundraising they don't look like hypocrites.
