    Pros

    Nice to know you're working for a good cause

    Cons

    Very hierarchical management, extremely top down, high turnover, high burnout, high stress, minimal benefits, expensive cost-sharing for insurance, minimal career advancement opportunities, inexperienced and ineffective supervisors.

    I have been working at American Heart Association full-time

    Pros

    Some really good people work for AHA.

    Cons

    Some really bad people work for AHA, Mostly Managers
    See too many good employees terminated just because their manager dislikes them
    You have no one to turn to if you have issues with your manager
    Managers are protected regardless of their performance or infractions
    HR doesn't help employees they are there to find a way to terminate
    Employees are "Bullied"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire an HR person that is ethical and is willing to stand up to management if they are wrong. Allow employees a voice.
