Great place for those not focused on ego, their helicopter parents, or instant promotions to CEO.

I have been working at American Society for Clinical Pathology

Pros

Innovative, great staff development training, competitive benefits, awesome parties, mini celebrations, exciting/tough international work. This is a growing global company that doesn't tolerate bad attitude.

Cons

Some mid-level managers have something to prove and are a little ego-centric.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sounds like many of the negative reviewers didn't last long. There's a reason for that fact. They got a reality check here and then they get another reality check somewhere else. I've heard story after story of former employees wanting to come back, and some do get hired back. Most of the negatives are from "coordinators" i.e. younger employees that miss their mommies and daddies and don't like to have their hands slapped. Work hard, try hard, fail hard and you will be respected and rewarded.

I worked at American Society for Clinical Pathology as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

There's a lot of spare time to find another job. The work load is very limited, this may sound like a plus but if your looking to learn and grow you need to be challenged, and the roles presented were not challenging at all.

    Cons

    There's no room for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

promote from within, recognize your employees more, and get of rid of those that are really getting by.

I worked at American Society for Clinical Pathology full-time

    Pros

Some nice people to work with if you are lucky; location in the Loop offers many conveniences for lunch, shopping, and banking; benefits are decent

    Cons

Lack of communication across, up, and down; lack of accountability in that people do not follow through on their promises/roles in projects; inappropriate behavior is overlooked; arrogant narcissists rule; management is unethical; senior management is way out of touch

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs an overhaul--there is no hope currently, to be honest
