    It's nice to get a steady paycheck from a successful business, but the stress of having no job security is overwhelming.

    Pros

    Decent benefits
    Plenty of work (rare to get less than your scheduled hours)
    Nice end of year bonus (at least last year's was)
    Tipped positions often pay fairly high, as the casino is very busy
    Good company values on paper
    Hard-working employees

    Cons

    Very high level of responsibility that does not match pay grade (for non-tipped positions)
    Disproportionally high risk of losing job due to minors entering casino floor
    Supervisors tend dismiss hard work more often than they praise it
    Micromanagement (more than I have seen at any other company I've been a part of)
    High amount of negative feedback given to many employees
    Reactive environment on many fronts
    Very hierarchical culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try being more proactive, rather than reactive, when it comes to decisions that significantly affect your staff. Take EVERYONE's opinions, suggestions, and feelings seriously, not just those that appeal to you. Pay your non-tipped employees more, or set up tip systems for them: people work at casinos to make decent money, not feel like they're being used.

    Pros

    you will get flexible schedules, and they are willing to work around you school and family
    you will be able to make good money sometime

    Cons

    They will not give you enough hours if you are part time due to excessive hiring
    Seniority doesn't mean a thing to them anymore
    You will not get good sections if you've been here for a while, unless you are on a rotation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your employees fairly, don't just be nice to the new hires and let them get away with everything because you want them to stay.
