    Pros

There are still some good, knowledgeable people in the organization. They typically identify themselves by their conduct, and the admiration others express for them.

    Cons

Most senior managers have the same background and since recruiting new hires to Lincoln is very challenging, management often has neither new ideas nor desire to step out of line. Cincinnati employees left from the 2005/06 merger are typically made to feel unwelcome, unwanted or untrustworthy. Many long-time Cincinnati employees have seen their careers stall, and Cincinnati has seen nearly all senior managers from before the merger depart, often for better positions elsewhere. The company's systems and business methods have not kept up with the times and the results indicate waning competitiveness in a very competitive business. Senior management seems to expect a different result from the same actions.

    Advice to Management

Management should recognize that risk and new approaches to business are necessary to compete in a mature, low-margin and highly-competitive business which markets a commodity product. However, the amount of old-style groupthink, aversion to new ideas not invented in Lincoln, Nebraska and the conviction that they are right and the rest of the world will eventually realize it do not form a robust, modern business model.

    Pros

Co-workers, benefits, free parking and cafeteria on site.

    Cons

There is a severe lack of training with little to no advancement opportunities. Management makes changes without thinking & fails to fix known issues. In most cases, management has become a joke. Some departments are overworked and some hardly work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Analyze all changes before making them, and admit when you make bad changes.
