I worked at Amgen full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Generous vacation policy, including two full weeks of company shutdown.
On-site amenities available to all staff (free gym comparable to private clubs, day care, car wash, gift shops)

    Cons

The company has lost its way, and no longer relies on the original values that made it successful.
    Lack of work-life balance.
    Limited career development opportunities.
Leadership decision making is questionable and self-serving.

Great internship! I learned a lot, and had wonderful opportunities to explore DC.

I worked at Amgen as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I got to work on challenging and interesting projects. As an intern I was able to attend interesting events. The senior management really ensured that I was enjoying my work. The work life balance is great.

    Cons

Sometimes it was a little slow in the office (may have been because it was the summer). I also wish that the DC office hired more interns, it was a little lonely at times.
