I have been working at Amgen full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great comp and benefits !

    Cons

    - senior executives don't seem to understand the beautiful list of company values
    - the mission statement seems only an advertising but nothing behind
    - don't seems to behave socially responsible but only care about topping up the share value at what ever the cost with no attention to company values
    - HR department in zug is very inefficient and nothing is moving in time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honestly how far you want to go? It is nice to have targets to increase the share value but is it worth to go that far by forgetting all the values and forgetting that you have certain amount of responsibility and commitment to the society.

recent changes in the company has treated some of the highly contributing resources of the company to leave without even considering the amount of value they add to the system each and every day. Please think more responsible and evaluate better before you take such decisions.

Bring better and more efficient HR processes and evaluate your HR resources for the quality of work they deliver. HR department seems over confident that they can do what ever they want but if everybody else in the company is committed to deliver their work in acceptable time frames why HR in Zug is taking weeks or even months to get some little signature on a paper. Nobody seems to be confident to complain but is this the culture you want to have in Amgen?

IS department seems not aligned with the business at all. The decisions taken there seems to have no understanding on what resources required where. Even the good ones who were able to deliver and in the local site disappeared. Please pay more attention to the details , better evaluate the IS leadership and moving everything to India is not the solution. If you think you save cost look at the best practice.
