I worked at Amgen full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great benefits, if you're in the right group with people who care, you can go places. Great learning potential if you move around the company.

Cons

Work life balance is talked about a lot but does not exist. It matters who you know and if you don't know how to "network" and fake it, then you'll be on the next layoff list.

You have a long road ahead.

I worked at Amgen as an intern

    Pros

I didnt really work for them directly but I did a summer internship, they sponsor the AMGEN scholarships in quite a few schools. It looks great on your resume gives you exposure to to different school and funds your research. They also take you to a big conference, which is great! They help apply to grad school, provide a lot of guidance,...etc.

    Cons

No cons that I can think of. They do a very kind thing to sponsor your summer research if youre chosen, but certainly you can imagine the pay is nowhere near the minimum of what you would be payed had you held an industry internship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    very nice!
