    Pros

The one thing that Amylin had was the upper-hand at peptide-derived therapeutics and existing intellectual property. Safety for their drugs was a great advantage over the competition.

    Cons

Very little attention to career-building for the individual, and the company sorely lacked inclusiveness among inter-departmental functions. I witnessed a lot of back-stabbing, contempt for others, and lack of teamwork. Transparency by upper-management made it difficult to trust the future of the company.

    Pros

Pay pretty well, facility is nice. They'll pay for your certifications and training. They'll pay for almost anything, they bleed money.

    Cons

They've no idea what they are doing. The board has run the place into the ground. Various people spend their days trying to get other people fired just to cover their own behinds. If someone doesn't like you, their first step is to run to HR. And HR listens to them. A few people have worn the carpet thin between their desks and HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut half of the desk workers loose, they are useless. Pay your production people who know what they are doing and pay them well.
