I have been working at Anchor Blue

Pros

great work life balance
great flexibility while going to school
Management would rather promote within
Great opportunity for hands on business management

Cons

Lower pay versus other retail companies
Corporate is always changing their mind on which demographic the company is targeting
High turnover in the district management position

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate must decide on where the company is going. After two restructurings within the last 7 years, Management still has no clue.

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Anchor Blue

    Pros

Good time off when needed. Ability to juggle work and school.

    Cons

People are promoted based on how much ass they kiss not what they can do for the company. No career potential what so ever even though the preach it to you all the time. Good for high school kids but not much else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and live in the real retail world not your imagined one.

    I worked at Anchor Blue

    Pros

Some talented managers in the stores.
Flexibility to run your own store, in most cases.
    Decent pay & benefits.
Selling good quality clothing at good prices.

    Cons

Very poor upper mgmt and district management.
Very political, good luck getting promoted past store manager if you are qualified.
Most people have zero confidence in the decisions made at corporate level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many changes, way too often. Give new ideas a chance to develop. Perhaps promote someone who is actually qualified into corporate.
