    I worked at Andrews Kurth

    Pros

    - Great people environment
    - Great pay for entry level paralegals. They allow overtime pay over your base pay, so you can find yourself making $65k in your FIRST YEAR as an entry-level paralegal.
    - Very generous with food. They bring in a lot of food during meetings, and purposely enough so that the entire firm can feast afterwards.
    - You never have to leave the office if you needed a drink/soda/water/snacks. They basically have an unlimited supply of it.
    - When interviewing with other companies, everyone knows who Andrews Kurth is. They are a very big and powerful name.
    - Mail-room support is unmatched. They are bright, positive, and they get things done in a timely manner. They get bonuses too!
    - HR is very helpful, straightforward, and are extremely reliable.

    Cons

Bigger bonuses to paralegals? Sometimes, they do all of the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speaking in terms of management in New York, they should stay the way they are now. Perfect management style.

Good place if working directly for nice attorneys but not if for difficult attorneys or within firm administration.

    I worked at Andrews Kurth

    Pros

    Stable, large, reputable international firm.
Great separate support facilities (printing, mailing, filing, overflow assistance, etc.)
    Competitive-above average payscale.
    Decent medical-dental health coverage.
Excellent computer equipment, software training & troubleshooting-help desk.
Bonuses & raises used to be great but not as much so during past 3 years.

    Cons

Office management in Dallas branch can be unpredictable, causing confusion, misunderstanding and negative vibes among support staff. Changes, deletions or additions to general office (support staff) policy are frequently made without management/administration's first spending an appropriate amount of time carefully thinking out and considering their long-term impact before enforcing them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend a reasonably longer amount of time thinking out and researching both potential benefits and potential negative consequences of changing office management/administration policies before actually doing so. Once done, make sure all support staff understand the reasons for changing the policy and exactly how the new policy works.
