I worked at Ann Taylor part-time for more than a year

Pros

- 50% off discount!
- Great product.
- Associates are encouraged to really engage with customers. It's a lot more than just standing behind a cash register.
- I've worked with multiple really great managers.

Cons

- Too much focus on getting customers to open credit cards.
- All of the usual retail cons: on your feet all day, irate customers, etc.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have practical expectations for what can be achieved in stores.

I worked at Ann Taylor full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    clothes are nice
    jewelry
    outlet sales
    nothing else

    Cons

    poor management
    schedule is mostly "on-call"
    push to sell credit
    poor pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

management cannot be trusted, HR just turns the other way when issues are reported, this company is more concerned with selling credit cards then clothing, they overhire then promise the new hires hours they will never have, most quit after they realize they have been lied to, the discount is a joke you can do just as well if not better with the sales working at the outlet location, the management environment at this location is very immature and spend more time trash talking about their employees than anything else, this is the reason why they are always looking to hire for managers, adults cannot tolerate working in this kind of environment, my advice is stay away far away
