I worked at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Decent hourly pay, nice summer job to have.

Cons

Not much room for growth, however it was a summer job.

Advice to Management

Please hire managers that work together. There is nothing worse than working for 3-4 different managers and they all have differing opinions on what needs to be done and how.

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly and pleasant co-workers. Good discount.

    Cons

Management is constantly pushing us to "get cards". Selling only one item at a time is also cause for management to get on your case.

    Advice to Management

If you want us to build relationships with clients stop pushing the credit card on people. It is off-putting for the client and the sales associates.

I worked at Ann Taylor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-People that work and shop there can make the store environment fun -Great product and 50% off of full price employee discount

    Cons

-Advancement is almost completely based on who you know -"He said, She said" ends up being more important to upper management than things like sales results and adherence to company policies. -Too many people were worked out the door without sound reasoning, while "favorites" got away with anything, and could even do things like take more paid vacations than allowed by the company.

    Advice to Management

The DM needs to work more on hiring Store and Co Managers that are capable of actually doing everything in their job requirements, not friends.
