Long hours with little appreciation as a Benefits Operations Administrator

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

work/life balance as I work 100% virtually

Cons

long hours! mandatory overtime of 10 hours each week that needs to be completed by each person, or given to someone else. If no one wants it though, you're stuck working it, regardless of if you're on PTO that week. Pay increases definitely needed. Peer reviews are not a good idea as they can be biased and not fair for a hardworking employee

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that ppl have lives outside of work. Not everyone can do 50+ hours a week of manual pension calcs and still keep their sanity.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Many of the Associates and Managers have made it a great experience working for Hewitt
Hewitt overall has provided me a great learning experience

    Cons

The Management team needs to be re-evaluated as there is to much favoritism within the company. The entire Management staff including the General Managers need to also be re- evaluated as they hold grudges against employees which hinders their growth within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe if Corporate did evaluations of Management staff as they do with associates many of the management staff would be unemployed. Management also needs to listen to associates needs and allow associates to grow within the company instead of resourcing outside the company .

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A company of over-achievers!. I'm used to being the 'shining star', but most Aon Hewitt employees are over-achievers, so I've had to adjust my approach to the job.

    Cons

While resources are plentiful, training for someone who did not 'grow up' at Aon Hewitt is lacking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training opportunities; mentoring would be a huge help
