Pros

Pay. Opportunity for raise. Friendly environment. Cafe with multiple food options.

Cons

Lack of organization. Management lacked enough experience to provide good advice. Would say one thing and the next five complete opposite advice and tell you that you did it wrong. Many people are not happy with the job but stay while looking for other jobs.

    Pros

    1. Best co-workers
    2. Good money during AEP

    Cons

    1. Terrible infrastructure
    2. Qualified individuals were not properly placed
    3. Upper management lacked an understanding of their customers
    4. Employees possessed none of the power but all of the responsibility
    5. Rather than solve problems, they sought to re-organize
    6. Lack of coordination between sites
    7. Work and re-work was unnecessary but there was no proper structure in place to avoid it
    8. 100% management and 0% leadership

    I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Terrific, deep expertise, innovative thinking, an industry leader in many ways.

    Cons

    Management appears to be oblivious to the concerns of employees. Think: heads in the sand. As a current employee, I can say that many managers appear to hate being in management roles and actually seem to just ignore their employees completely. I rarely talk to my manager and when I do need him for something important it takes 2 - 3 weeks for him to get back to me on anything (after I follow up several times). Also, if you aren't an actuary you can forget about getting any support or training and you will never be promoted - no matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in. In another firm, I'd be a senior manager with my level of experience and education. In Aon Hewitt, I'm just a consultant. Lastly, this firm simply does not respect you unless you are friends with the "right" people and have your nose stuck in the right place. In other words, merit means little or nothing to this company.

    Pull your heads out of the sand and realize how miserable your employees are.
