I worked at Aon Hewitt full-time (less than an year)

Pros

1/2 hour unpaid lunch and if you're lucky maybe 1 or 2 paid 15 minute breaks

Cons

You are a number, no compassion, just a number. Politics, if management likes you and you are part of the clique - you got it made! I was hired as a full-time employee, not a contract position and you were treated bad or worse than the contract employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try listening to your employees instead of being exasperated with all of the work you have to do, like listening to phone calls and grade them, really, hard work?

Unethical middle management working people to death and then threatening job with "Performance Issues"

I worked at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great coworkers and interesting work

    Cons

Zero work life balance, Department management was terrible -- focused on having too many managers to "manage workload and metrics", not enough folks to do the actual work, blaming staff for problems when there is clearly too much work, favoritism and whatever the opposite of whatever favoritism is that bordered on illegal harassment and retaliation, zero response from HR for complaints and continue to support the corrupt and unethical department management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a better look at your department level managers -- they are running the company into the ground by making everyone miserable with impossible work loads and them talking about "performance issues" for the impossible work. Despite what you're told in your mgmt meetings, it's not the people....it's the middle management.

I have been working at Aon Hewitt full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, (mostly) great people, flexibility of working from home or changing hours

    Cons

Red tape instituted by senior management, a massive increase in outsourcing jobs which lowers quality, a massive focus on cutting costs and not making needed investments in the business, which lowers morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of your bubbles and look at the effect your policies are having on the rank and file. Stop insisting that all teams do everything the same way - bring the focus back to what works best for our clients.
