Good company to work for although bonuses are subpar due to overall region performance, not group performance.

Pros

Work/Life Balance
Company Culture
Well respected organization
Innovative and strategic
Leader in the industry
Growth through acquisitions
Global consulting firm

Cons

Pay is less than expected in the industry. Bonuses are seemingly non-existent. Lay-offs occurred while CEO was paid his $20M salary and bonus. Mass group exodus in certain practices to competitors.

Advice to Management

Worry about retaining your "unmatched talent" through compensation and pay incentives. Aon is nothing if not its people. Value that.

    Pros

It can pay fairly well. There are a lot of smart people there.

    Cons

Aon is a very conservative, arrogant and stuffy culture. It's not progressive. The inflow of McKinsey consultants into Aon after Case took over brought Aon more discipline than the Ryan days, but it also brought even more arrogance and stubbornness to a culture. It's not a place that values diversity in any sense.

    Advice to Management

Become more diverse. Quit hiring based on the country club memberships and lineage and start hiring more based on qualifications and accomplishments. Make changes at the C-level and bring in fresh blood to help Aon continue to progress.
