I have been working at Aon full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Provides competitive salaries, and good access to training. Many opportunities for career growth in a variety of different paths. An ideal job for motivated candidates interested in risk management.

Cons

A very big company, so with the good comes the bad. Sometimes it feels unorganized and it takes some time for information to be communicated from the higher ups. Overall though, a great place.

    Pros

    When you work for a large employer you have access to more benefit options and there's more room to move around within the organization

    Cons

    The software they design is really sub-par. We can never get any work done.

    Listen to your employees.

    Pros

    Sacrificing personal liberties and a small amount of your humanity in order to be successful at this organization.

    Cons

    No work life balance, unless your life is about work. And poor management in general. The performance management calibration process isn't based on results, but rather popularity. The execs protect themselves to the detriment of their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Grow up, and stop throwing all of your employees under the bus. You know, if you'd actually create an enjoyable place to work, you could promote from within and save on payroll since the job wouldn't be all about the money. You might actually because to balance the books by saving on turnover expenses.
