Pros

Smart people, decent management, not overly stressful place to work.

Cons

Outsourced a lot of it's tech team, no clear paths on advancement in career, projects move very slowly.

Advice to Management

You can't both outsource and expect projects to go quickly/smoothly. You get what you pay for. Eventually, this will put you behind the curve and playing catch up with obsolete products.

    Pros

The insurance industry is old. Aon is doing a good job of keeping the good from the old industry and accepting new technologies and ideas that will continue to make it the best broker in the world. They are a meritocracy which is great for hard-workers and there is plenty of room for opportunity.

    Cons

Management structure is very loose and often confusing. It takes some serious communication and networking skills to navigate and understand the corporate culture and nuances.

    Advice to Management

Simplify. Simplify management. Simplify product lines. Simplify systems. Aon is way to complex for a company with a core set of products that are straight forward to define. It is confusing for clients and employees.
