Let go of folks that aren't necessary. Manage the middle managers better.

    Pros

    Access to a wide variety of training/education opportunities.

    Cons

    Very dysfunctional organization. Vertical business groups interact poorly making it very difficult to effect positive change. Leadership changes are frequent and priorities change faster than the organization can adjust.

    I worked at Apollo Education Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Relatively good salary & benefit opportunities for those who want to do a great job and work at it. People who are comfortable shining will accelerate quickly in an environment starved for top performers. Great people at all levels who are willing to work together to achieve goals.

    Cons

    Attrition is choking off creativity and a strategy not to back-fill top performers is severely impacting the organization's ability to achieve strategic goals. Many key leaders do not have longevity & experience to help drive their decisions. Many are in the early stages of ramping up to performing.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being reactive to the market, current pressures, and start being proactive to achieving success. If you can't see where to be proactive then hire in leaders to offset your gaps in vision. Double down on improving and establishing a positive corporate culture that you can be proud of and then make sure you also have a product your employees will be proud of once again.
