Pros

Most days I am proud to say that I work for Apple. The products speak for themselves and it is great to be able to use them. The work environment can be very invigorating as well as mentally challenging.

Cons

Salaried employees are expected to work 50-60 hours a week. Advancement opportunities minimal for upper level positions. External applicants are being hired with less experience & fewer qualifications over well-qualified employees. Internal candidates for those same positions are then asked to provide training for the new Apple employee.

Advice to Management

Look to promote from within Apple. There are many extremely talented, hard-working current employees that Apple could benefit from promoting. Current employees are leaving which is a loss to Apple.

    Pros

Lots of paid training and management that cares about your development as a person. Great benefits and vacation package and discounts on hardware and software. Training is a top priorty and is worked into our schedule.

    Cons

In a retail position the hours are bad. It is a physically demanding job as you are on your feet all day. And the downside of working for a company who cares is customers can really try to get all they can out of you even when you go above and beyond.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees at a higher rate of pay so you will have less turnover and more competency. Talk more with all emplyees not just the ones that complain the loudest.

Employees at Apple, Inc. work at a relentless pace in the New York area and pay is not adequate for NY cost of living.

    Pros

    Exciting environment and creative co-workers

    Cons

The NY pace is relentless. Workers are clearly underpaid. There is no time for training.

    Advice to Management

They need to step up to the plate during promotions and do hands on work if necessary to support the staff. They need to advocate for staff with higher management. In New York salaries are not adequate; will not meet living costs.
