I have been working at Apple full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is doing well. With right attitude one can acquire new sets of skills that can be useful down the road.

    Cons

Extremely political. Lots of red-tape. Managers do not seem to care about long term career of employees. Groups are compartmentalized and hence there is little cross-pollination. Very hard to know the big picture of how ones is work fits within overall company plan/products. Very hard to obtain internal transfers to work on other projects.

    Advice to Management

Try to improve on the cons listed above.

I worked at Apple part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, fun environment. Good benefits too, including product discounts.

    Cons

Store manager was awful, didn't understand the repair business at all, and tried to micromanage. New store manager since I left, and I've heard they are much better.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes you just have to stay out of the way. Trust your employees to make responsible decisions based on company goals. Otherwise you take away their motivation and as a result, their productivity.
