    Pros

Applied makes great products, market dominate player. standards benefits.

    Cons

I saw my coworker dies! It is true! heart attack!
stressful, hard work, 2nd shift, night shift, tool time is expensive; human time is cheap.
Semiconductor industry is shifting to Asia, low pay, it is a river of no return. Do you want to compete with low pay competitors? Do you want to work with dangerous chemicals? Applied is the place.

    Pros

Salaries and benefits are generous; telecommuting is encouraged especially in IT ; large company with multitude of opportunities throughout the company; employees are friendly and helpful and have been there for a long time

    Cons

Poorly managed and lagging behind competition; consistent management turmoil and quarterly layoffs; lagging stock price and options; merger with Varian Semiconductor left power strife that is undermining company values and opening company up to more turmoil; greater than average turnover of employees

    Advice to Management

Clearer vision and strategy to lead the company. Decide who is in charge Gary Dickerson or Mike Splinter and prevent more senior leadership attrition
