    Pros

    I can't think of any pros.

    Cons

    Constant pressure to lower operating cost at the expense of customer service. Executive management pushes initiatives into the branches without analyzing outcomes. It seems that they are driven by the competitive atmosphere to "be the first division to roll out". Nothing wrong with competive management, but it has become more than that. Take a serious look at Blackstone which owns Apria. They buy and flip organizations. Increase the Operating Income to look better on paper then sell.

    Take referral survey reports to heart. The customer service is awful and the reason is poor planning and execution of the centralized systems in place. Your Branch Managers cannot overcome this poor service!

    Pros

    I was honored to work with some absolutely fantastic people who really cared about doing good work.

    I did have a tremendous amount of leeway to get things done

    Cons

    Revolving door of leadership
    Cronyism and Peter Principle at its best and most blatant
    overstaffed in some areas completed understaffed in others

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find the people who are talented and who care and tend to them. It's not always about money--but also about respect, confidence, trust, and so on.
