I worked at Apria Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Nice cubicles and work space. Good location for grabbing a fast lunch. Some of the managers are ok to work for.

Cons

Yyou only get vacation drop to use every six months. They do not pay for anything vacation earned but not available to use if you quit before it drops in your bucket. They will not pay you for your vaction even if you turn in a notice and your vacation is available the before your last date of employment.

Advice to Management

Treat people like you want them to treat you.

    Pros

Big safe company. Good benefits. You are kind of safe if you work hard. I guess you can move up the totem pole if you work hard

    Cons

They don't care about you. You are just a number to them. They work you hard and expect 175% from you six days a week.

    Advice to Management

    More to life than apria

I have been working at Apria Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can negotiate base over 40 K. Not micromanaged too much. Reimburse for mileage. Could attain well into six figures depending on territory. Pretty decent training. Ability to have a company mentor, but have to insist on it. Good way to break into medical devices sales. Network with other reps from other industries to get out ASAP.

    Cons

Benefits suck. The health care plan deductible went from $200 a year to $2000 a year for family. Raises are minimal if any from 0% to 5% tops. Area Managers in some markets are not very helpful. Our Area Sales Manager Was very unethical and when HR was notified of his unethical practices he was only smacked on the wrist. Branch personal are over worked and unhappy. Turnover was ridiculous. Some months there'd be 2 people quitting at once. Not supportive of diversity in the sales force. Sales are expected to work in the evening and on weekends to complete call logs and also go to accounts to get referrals for weekend hospital discharges. Work life balance is hard. Again it depends on your territory but not likely to be a company you'd retire from. Areas like CA, the East Coast, Midwest, FL, GA, Hawaii have great management. KY, NV are hurting. Management is poor and no one is held accountable for numerous patient failures. Dr's literally hate the company and would rather patient pay out of pocket to go with another supplier over Apria.

    Advice to Management

Do better background checks on people before you hire them.
