Aquent Employee Review
Aquent – “Good Place to get Foot in the Door”
Pros
I was able to work for some of the top ad agencies in San Diego when I was working through Aquent. Got hired one time through them at a big agency. I don't think I would be able to get my foot in the door without their help. For someone who is starting out, Aquent is a good place to gain experience.
The pay is decent. The folks at San Diego Aquent were very responsive. Almost always returned my phone calls and answered questions.
Cons
You have to sign an agreement saying that you will not work for the company that gave you an assignment through Aquent for one complete year. So if you worked at a place and you really like it and they liked you, you are bound by contract to only work for a place through Aquent only unless they hire you through Aquent for a sizeable fee. For this reason, while Aquent can open a lot of doors for you, it can also be very limiting at the same time.
My pay rate increased only slightly after 5 years. I experienced a lot in those years and became more skillful, but my pa yrate did not increase properly to reflect this.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall, I was happy with my experience at Aquent.
