I worked at Arbor Networks as a contractor (less than an year)

Pros

Everyone that works in the company is extremely nice and approachable. They are the leader in the industry, but continue to create great ideas and become better.

Cons

Benefits aren't so great because they are part of the Danaher Corporation.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can only teach a person certain skills. If they are bringing down the morale of a group, or constantly putting down the company, do not risk losing good employees because of their poor support.

I have been working at Arbor Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some smart people there that are great to learn from and there is potential, especially with the great team from PacketLoop.
Strong financial support for speaking engagements and conferences.

    Cons

Too much pass the buck and lack of accountability. "Hard work" is defined only between the hours of 10am and 4pm and very few put in the time to meet deadlines that they set which causes major deadlines to slip.
Hiring goes in massive spurts so for every good person you get at least two incompetents who stick around much longer than the good people.
Work environments are lacking - "open cubes" are required causing significant distractions and rudeness from other employees who refuse to understand that their antics make it hard for others to work.
Free snacks that are largely just sugar and fat, feels like a snack machine from a college dorm and not an adult workplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Accountability. Practice it or the smart ones will continue to flee.
