I have been working at Armstrong World Industries full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Armstrong has a very nice, securely gated campus. The benefits are good, and the pay is descent.

Cons

Armstrong has poor management, who hire poor managers who cannot lead or mentor people. Morale is very low. There is very little appreciation for a job well done. There is no job progression, and job description are inaccurate, if they even exist at all. There are a lot of unwanted office politics.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers should have to go through appropriate training to be hired as a manager. Consider bringing back the mentor program. Consider hiring people who can lead and mentor people.

I have been working at Armstrong World Industries full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fantastic training and great tools geared to help you succeed. My experience is with Field Sales work and the support is there. Generous benefits and steady employment. Management is generally open and welcoming.

    Cons

Must be a self starter and deal with a sometimes antiquated supply chain. Bonus structure is not good at the mid range. You can feel like a Island to yourself at times with the larger territories and heavy traveling required at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a better path forward for mid-level and entry positions. Focus on Job enrichment if positions are not available.
