I worked at Army and Air Force Exchange part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Can shop tax free, access to a free gym

    Cons

HQ doesn't care about the mission, just profit margins. Pay is low for what is asked to be done and job descriptions are never correct. Expect to work outside of what you were hired to do...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more manhours to people and hire FT. Part time does not pay the bills

I have been working at Army and Air Force Exchange full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The mission - to support our military and their families. A chance to travel and see the world, in the right job. Decent salary, good pension and benefits. If they can turn it around it will return to being a really great place to work.

    Cons

HQ has lost focus on the mission. Policies are implemented inconsistently - some favored divisions always seem to be able to add people and promote them even when everyone else is "frozen" or losing valuable talent. Too much emphasis on profits over service to customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your new CEO - he knows what he's doing.
