I worked at AroundCampus as an intern for less than a year

Pros

-one of the best sales training programs for interns
-opportunity to stand out amongst every other intern
-managers are extremely supportive
-build close relationships with hundreds of local businesses in your college town

Cons

-the company itself is horrible. The home office cannot get anything right, ever, and they get mad at you when you try and fix their mistakes.
- you will have angry clients when all is said and done because the graphic design team is also completely useless. Artwork gets screwed up and people get upset, then you get blamed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more genuine about how hard this is. Don't trick everyone into thinking a sales pitch means you will succeed.

A job that left me unfulfilled

I worked at AroundCampus as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Team environment, work with great people, managers are energetic and give you positive reinforcement. The training in North Carolina was an absolute blast. Hard work during the day but party at night.

    Cons

You're selling advertisement in a campus planner or directory, which nobody uses in this age. The company is very much about numbers. Plenty of renewal clients expressed frustration with the company and what they were told. Previous reps may have stretched the truth about the product which hurts your credibility walking into a renewal customer.

I've also witnessed management lie to try and make a sale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The positive atmosphere is great, but 12 weeks of motivation schtick, inspirational quotes and videos can wear thin after a while. Be more realistic about the product. Saying every business could benefit from this product is not truthful and a poor mindset.

I have been working at AroundCampus as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Fantastic training. Good leadership. Great experience

    Cons

    It's too hot outside...
    low pay
lots of miles put on car

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better pay. The wear and tear your car will take is worth more than employees receive. Other than that, great internship.
