Pros

Company is going through lots of changes, therefore there is a significant amount of opportunity for growth. It is a fair company as well in terms of life/work balance, time is often available for personal use when you have previously taken that time away from your personal life to accomplish something for work. There is a very strong sense of team work, at least within the immediate team. People do bond together and in general care for each other, in tough times this is really good to see.

Cons

Often too slow to change, old-economy mentality prevails. There seems to be a lack of long-term concrete plan and a 'stick to the plan' follow-through. Approaches are changed frequently. Decisions are often made at the upper management level without really understanding how they will impact the daily operations. From the IT/IS perspective the picture is NOT so rosy. That function is perceived as a 'cost center' as opposed to a tool that is of strategic advantage, therefore it is relegated to the back-rows of the functions.

Advice to Senior Management

Pick a plan and stick to it, keep the boat going straight.
