Former Employee - Associate Faculty in Clinton, IA
Former Employee - Associate Faculty in Clinton, IA

I worked at Ashford University part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Nothing worth mentioning, as the Cons totally outweigh anything positive about this university.

Cons

1) no true learning going on in this place - only money-making, which is not apropos to true education
2) administration blatantly lies to their associate faculty
3) youth-based administration does not know the value of education - only interested in making money
4) no instructor authority in the classroom, as this has been removed in deference to student-based authority, which is an unspoken mandate of the administration

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop concentrating on making money and start focusing on the true meaning of education! In short, listen to your faculty members - the ones in the classrooms! Get out of the ivory tower of finance and down to the nitty-gritty of teaching!

    Cons

High stress, pressure to meet monthly minimum number of student enrollments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make degrees more affordable. A $50,000 online bachelor's degree can be difficult to justify.
