Former Employee - Admissions Operations Coordinator in San Diego, CA

I worked at Ashford University full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Lots of training/professional development.
All kind of awesome benefits (gym, fitness classes, cafeteria, free school).
Young, lively company.
Some positions are really easy work.

Cons

Admissions is a completely different world with lots of pressure.
You may wonder if you're doing the right thing for the students.
Have to deal with morons/unethical people on a near daily basis.
University is not in a good place right now with WASC denial and lawsuits.

I have been working at Ashford University full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing. There wasn't anything positive about a company that pretends to be student or learning centered but in reality is nothing but a scam artist.

    Cons

They lie and pretend that they function and act like a real, credible university. It's nothing but a telemarketer calling 1000 people a day and attempting to convince these individuals they need a "degree".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You lost your accredidation, close up and stop embarassing yourself.
