I have been working at Ashley Furniture Homestore full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Uncapped/Limitless Earnings Opportunity
No Micromanagement
You can feel comfortable to be yourself with your co-workers and customers
Management is fairly accommodating to days off and requested time off.

Cons

Long hours/Retail hours - Holidays, weekends, and special events require mandatory attendance.
Managers are a hit or miss some better than others.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your branch and assistant managers - not just how to do daily tasks but emphasize on motivating team members.
Quit insisting that employees CANNOT take off on certain times of the year as sales staff know they should be there during high traffic times in order to make the big money. We have family and there are some family gathering we would like to attend without being required to "call in" basically.

I worked at Ashley Furniture Homestore full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

fomrer location i used to work for closed (fremont,ca) furniture is cool but doesn't "deliver"

    Cons

they relocated and have several stores in the bay area. worst place to work for. constant cycle of complaints due to false expectations of late furniture. 2 months estimated delivery and no commision to sales until all furniture get's delivered and pay was on a flex bank system which meant that if the employee didn't make enough, cali law says if you work a full time hours you have to meet the amounts for those hours and pay the difference when you make your commission. the result, workers had to work to pay back their flex all because the company couldn't manafacture/ ship the product in time. workers were crooked starting from the top, certain sales people stole sales in front of you in a managers played on the computer all day... constant horror yelp reviews. i'm surprised they are still in business. they need to be investigated on their practices and have a class action suit against them. don't buy or work for these people. stay clear....far and away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

they know what to do but don't do it
